Frequently asked
The questions people ask us most about Joyroll.
What is Joyroll, and how does it work?
Joyroll is a memory experience for events. You create an event and get a QR code or link; guests scan it to join, take photos, add a vintage filter and leave a message. After the event you “open the roll” and everything is revealed at once — every photo and message as one complete album.
Can guests see each other’s photos?
Before you open the roll, each guest normally sees only their own submissions; everything else stays locked. Once it is revealed, everyone sees the full shared album. Whether guests keep access after the event is up to the host.
Are the photos private?
Yes. A Joyroll album is private: photos are visible only inside that event and never public. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what we collect, how we use it and how it is protected.
What does “opening the roll” mean, and when does it happen?
Opening the roll is the moment every photo is revealed at once, like a roll of film coming back from the lab. You can schedule it (the evening of the wedding, noon the next day) or open it on the spot.
What kinds of events is Joyroll for?
Weddings, birthdays, parties, family gatherings, brand events — any gathering worth keeping.
Can we download the photos after the reveal?
Yes. Once the roll is open, guests can view and save photos from the shared album, and the host can export the whole event in one go.
